I and my poetry are mentioned in the current Amazing Stories article: Women Destroy* Hard SF Poetry!!! (Round Up November 2015); one of five featured poets, middle of the article). It seems so odd that gender should be an issue with regard to genre poetry.

I enjoyed the article as a whole. Interesting and informative.

  1. Congratulations! I agree with you that gender doesn’t have to be a separate distinction, but here it’s something to celebrate. Certainly, the genre of science fiction poetry is cool (not a pun about space). Intriguing and contributing. And not tried enough. Again, Congratulations!

    1. Thank you! I wrote my first science fiction poem in fifth grade, and then didn’t touch on it again until after I got married (about 23 years ago). My hobbies, interests, college studies and career path were in those days traditional male pursuits. I can see that now, anyway. I just went where I wanted to go and did what was interesting to me.

Anyway, it’s neat to get some recognition when I’m not a prolific submitter.

  2. I’m glad you enjoyed it, Lizl! I tried to stay true to poetry with the natural sciences and space exploration/astronomy as their base, but it was harder than I thought!

    1. I started out in the natural sciences (1st two years) in college, but I started reading science fiction around the age of 8. Both inform my poetry…which is sort of scary, these days. I do love astronomy poetry and would like to read more of it.

And you?
